"We've weathered many a storm, and are still holding true to the reason we were started -- to bring good theatre by local casts to Oswego and its environs, and have fun doing it."
~ Francis Marion Brown

Founded in 1938 by Francis Marion Brown and others the first play produced by the Oswego Players was 'The Late Christopher Bean'.   Now, 67 years later the Oswego Players are one of the oldest continually running theatre programs in the country.

Each year they offer approximately eight theatre shows from dinner theatre format to traditional theatre at the Francis Marion Brown theatre located in the Fort Ontario Park as well as at other venues.

The Oswego Players has a true base in the community, drawing its members and casts from Pulaski, Mexico, and Fulton as well as from the Oswego area.

This year for the first time and in memory of Donald J McCann, the Oswego Players are offering a state wide playwriting contest. It will culminate with a monetary award being given on April 9, 2005 with the winning play being cast and produced on the stage of the Francis Marion Brown Theatre.
