Fulton, NY - The
United Way of Greater Oswego County recently honored the memory of Pat Casper
by naming her as the recipient of the Dr. Fran Koenigsberg Award. The award is given annually to recognize a
volunteer who best demonstrates an exceptional commitment to the nurturing of
the spirit of learning in children.
“We present this award posthumously to Patricia Casper. Pat
worked diligently as a volunteer with our Success By 6 program. Pat was a creative, dedicated, and spirited
woman of great presence and positive energy.
Pat gave completely of herself to ensure that all our county’s children
would be well prepared to begin their education,” said Melanie Trexler, executive
director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County.
Pat’s husband, Bob Casper accepted the award and praised the
efforts of the United Way’s Success By 6 program and spoke of how his wife
enjoyed working with the program and helping the children of Oswego
County. “It is my honor to receive this
award on behalf of my wife. I want to
thank the team over at Success By 6 for their hard work on a program that
really adds value to our community. My
wife was friend and colleague of Fran Koenigsberg and I thank you for honoring
my wife in this way,” he said.
