Fulton,
NY – Good
people doing great things. That phrase
served as the primary theme during the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s annual
meeting held Wednesday morning, March 12th at the American Foundry,
246 West Seneca Street in Oswego.
Melanie
Trexler, Executive Director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County
described the event as a wonderful opportunity to thank, honor and recognize
the many caring individuals who gave so much of their time and resources to
make the United Way’s 2007 - 2008 campaign such an overwhelming success.
“Good
people doing great things for the benefit of others is the heartbeat of the
United Way. We gather this morning to
pay tribute to those good people whose dedication and hard work have generated
uncommon results. Our campaign began in
September and to date we have reached more than 90% of our stated goal. Today the United Way shows its appreciation
to the loyalty to community that was demonstrated by the people here today,”
said Ms. Trexler.
Several
outstanding individuals and companies were recognized during the event for
their contributions to the United Way’s annual campaign and their support of
the United Way and its mission in Oswego County.
“We
greatly appreciate the efforts of our volunteers and the support we receive
from the many organizations, businesses, and individuals who do so much for the
